In 2019, Houzz released a survey that involved homeowners who just had accomplished their bathroom remodeling project. The respondents were asked about what made them decide to renovate their space and what they were trying to achieve through it.
Here are common reasons people invest in bathroom remodels.
Inspired to Make Changes
11 percent of participants mentioned that they wanted to update their bathrooms because they’ve seen a design that inspired them to make changes. Some of the most popular master bathroom styles in the previous year include transitional, modern, contemporary, traditional, and farmhouse.
To Personalize a New Home
While your new home can have great features, you’ll still likely want to add your personal touch to your space. Respondents were more willing to invest in bathroom remodeling companies that offer premium finishes in showers, alternative flooring materials, and custom vanities.
Old Bathroom is Worn Down
Almost half of the respondents said they use their newly updated bathrooms to relax. Renovating your bathroom isn’t only about making the space look more fresh and beautiful. You’d want to create a place where you can unwind at the end of the day. That would be hard if fixtures are failing and tiles are breaking.
Can’t Stand the Old Bathroom
Another reason homeowners chose to renovate is that they could no longer stand their old bathroom. They were also asked which features they wanted to change the most in their old baths. Most of them had to replace their small showers, increase storage, improve lighting, and add more counter space.
They Finally Have the Means
Bathroom renovation is a major project that involves significant costs. However, more homeowners are now willing to pay for the bathroom of their dreams.
